P3.express is an open-license, lightweight project management methodology designed for medium-sized organizations and projects, articulated by Iranian-Canadian project-management practitioner Nader K. Rad and published under a Creative Commons license through the P3.express organization. First released in 2017, it presents a fixed monthly cadence of management activities (28 activities organized across initiation, monthly cycles, end-of-project closure, and post-project benefit realization) intended to be substantially complete and substantially simpler than PMBOK or PRINCE2. The methodology presumes a predictive lifecycle but accommodates incremental delivery within projects. A companion NUPP (Nearly Universal Principles of Projects) framework articulates the underlying principles. P3.express is notable for its open licensing, translation into 30+ languages, and small but engaged practitioner community; it remains substantially less adopted than PMBOK or PRINCE2.
